United Way in Action…
Here are just a few examples of United Way’s impact on our community:
- Through United Way’s partnership with Family Services Center, Inc., many residents have found the critical assistance they need by simply dialing 2-1-1.
- 5,847 local residents have received emergency basic need services such as food, clothing, medication and school supplies while working to become self-sufficient through Community Enabler Developer, Inc.
- The American Red Cross helped 469 families who were victims of a house fire or other disaster by providing food, shelter, clothing, medical supplies and counseling to help them get back on their feet as soon as possible.
- Jacksonville Day Care Center is helping over 50 working families maximize their income by providing quality, affordable child care in a safe, loving environment.
- 2,800 residents received free tax preparation through the volunteers of RSVP bringing $560,846 in EITC dollars back to local hard-working families.
