Why join YLS?

As a member of the YLS, you will enjoy a full roster of events designed to help you enhance your leadership skills, expand your personal contacts and connect with our community. Events include:

• Networking at monthly after-hours social events exclusively held for YLS members

• Opportunities to volunteer for worthwhile community projects

• Educational opportunities concerning issues in our community
 

Membership Requirements

• Membership is available to those between the ages of 21 and 45.

• Members make an annual contribution to United Way of East Central Alabama in the amount of $300 or more. The contribution can be made through your employer or you can make a personal donation directly to United Way.

• Members will pay quarterly membership dues of $50 per individual or  $75 per couple. This cost covers all monthly after-hours events. Your dues can be paid by cash or check, or you can choose to be billed at home on a quarterly basis (the easiest way).

• Members are asked to give 20 hours of community service annually through projects selected by the YLS.
 

Membership Billing

All members will be billed on a quarterly basis. This billing will be done during the first month of each quarter. Members can pay their dues monthly or anytime within the quarter. Payments will be made directly to United Way noting that payment is for YLS membership dues. 
 
Guests will be charged $15 for each meeting they attend. Guests will be limited to two meetings annually. Members who sponsor a guest can pay the $15 the night of our events or can be billed.
